"Reimagine the internet in a post-growth scenario"
Post-growth advocates for sustainability and well-being over economic output, urging rich countries to reduce activity while ensuring a basic level of consumption for all.
Trying to capture the entirety of the internet into a single project is a massive undertaking.
When we asked the question: "what is the internet", we found that it is a way to communicate.
From our research, we found a couple key bits of information:
Communication is the defining characteristic of the internet.
In this brief, we create our ideal vision of communication, and thus, the future.
In our group, we spoke 3 different languages between us, and crossing borders created this outcome.
A project evolves through people.
Inventions to promote higher levels of communication (Virtual Desk, Tone Communicators)

Upgraded project for Student Gallery Exhibition
I joined the BUMF gallery, a student-showcasing gallery which was part of BUMF magazine. In our first exhibition, I was able to show off my upgraded work to a variety of people where I turned the designs into A3, added extra soundwaves and all 3 translations of each word. There were so many questions and people interested in what I do. It was extremely validating, and made me want to do this sort of thing again. After this, I gained a large amount of respect for galleries, and especially as a student platform, the BUMF Gallery became a special place to me.
Throughout the academic year of 2022/23, I was the resident Graphic Designer for the Student Gallery. I started and helped in the re-brand, and while taking on a short-course, those two choices eventually leading to me becoming a Digital Content Creator writing about my experiences on the Student Story Website. Exhibiting this work here was crucial to my work as an artist, and was the catalyst for me to become something bigger than what I already was. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity, because I might not be where I am without it.
We found success in creating a strong and simple idea to an almost impossible question. By cutting up words and crafting new ones, we went back to our roots as graphic designers.
Working on a project after hand-in because of passion is crucial. The exhibition evolved the experience: as admiration, interpretations and feelings outside of the classroom touched me, they showed me the impact and real effect of my work more than a grade ever could.
